3 Excuses That Keep You From Accomplishing Your Goals

goals high performance Jul 07, 2017

One of the things I’ve learned in my years of coaching, NLP training, and positive psychology is that people routinely underestimate what they can accomplish.

This might sound like self sabotaging behaviours, but it might be that a person simply doesn’t have the strategies to make the progress they want.

This often shows up in the form of making excuses.

Any of these sound familiar?

“I want to do XYZ… but there’s no way I could actually do it.”

The truth is you don’t really know what you can do until you try.

I’m not saying to just dive into things without thinking them through — you’ll need a good plan and some serious support if you want to accomplish great things — but chances are that you can do it.

“Today/this month/this year is already gone. I’ll start making changes tomorrow/next month/next year.”

This is such a common excuse!

It’s easy to feel that just because you haven’t made the progress you wanted so far, you shouldn’t even bother trying for a while.

But as cliche as it sounds, there really is no better time to start working towards your goals than right now.

“I’ve left it too late. There’s no way I can achieve XYZ now.”

I’ve been hearing this excuse a lot as we reach the half way point in 2017 and this year starts to draw to a close.

It’s tempting to write off the last months of the year (especially if you haven’t been making the progress you want to so far), but this is a huge mistake!

As they say, it’s not over until it’s over — and I’ve experienced first hand how with the right support and some proven strategies, you can accomplish more in a few months than most people do in years.

If these excuses are sounding uncomfortably familiar and you want to make real, lasting change FAST, then schedule a strategy call with me.

I have a process, grounded in research, that is changing lives all over the world and I want YOU to be a part of it!
